The International Roundtable on Community Paramedicine (IRCP) is an annual meeting that brings together paramedics, educators, community paramedics, paramedic service administrators, chiefs, executive directors, and others from around the world to discuss the latest advances in community paramedicine. The meeting is hosted by a different country each year. The planned rotation is the UK (2023), Canada (2024), Australasia (2025), and the US (2026).

The IRCP provides a forum for participants to share their experiences and best practices in community paramedicine. The meeting also features presentations on a variety of topics related to community paramedicine, such as:

• The role of paramedics in primary care
• The use of paramedics in chronic disease management
• The integration of paramedics into community health teams
• The development of new models of care for rural and remote communities

The IRCP is an important event for anyone who is interested in the future of community paramedicine. The meeting provides a valuable opportunity to learn about the latest advances in the field and to network with other professionals who are passionate about improving the health of our communities.

Mission

The IRCP promotes the international exchange of information and experience related to the provision of flexible and reliable healthcare services using novel healthcare delivery models and is a resource to public policy makers, systems managers, and others.

Vision

The IRCP facilitates discussions, meetings and research focused on designing systems which will ensure patients’ needs continue to be met in environments and circumstances where health services are less available and provision of care is increasingly challenging. Integral to this vision is the provision of services by paramedics using their scope of practice in expanded roles. These Second Generation Paramedics (G2P) will provide services through unique models of delivery and enhanced protocols through an integrated collaborative network with other health care providers.
